The neighborhood is bordered by Interstate394 to the north, Minnetonka Boulevard to the south, Lake Street to the east, and Hopkins Crossroad to the west. The Minnetonka North neighborhood is home to close to 3,500 residents. The area was originally settled by German and Irish immigrants who worked in the nearby mills and mines.

In Minnetonka North, the population was spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years old. For every 100 females, there were 94 males residing in Minnetonka North.
